From Problem to Solution: How Writing Can Restore Order to a Chaotic World

Writing has helped me to articulate problems and to find solutions. It’s given me a creative outlet and a reliable portal into ‘the zone’. Addicted to Progress

My theory is that most human enjoyment can be reduced down to progress. Writing and reading give you that in different ways: both offer solutions to problems (fictional or not).

Most ‘healthy’ addictions are in pursuit of some progress: Chasing fitness goals, becoming a workaholic, or being a book worm.

Strangely though, writing (and the only comparable thing for me is walking) can be both deeply addictive and yet therapeutic at the same time.
